#8  Christian Conduct

We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well being of his fellowmen; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.

We believe that

a Christian should live for the glory of God

 Ephesians 1:6,12,14  We are saved to demonstrate the greatness of God and the greatness of what He has done in our lives (1 Corinthians 10:31).

and the well being of his fellowmen;

 Galatians 6:9-10  We are to love God first and then our neighbors as ourselves, including a special “duty” to love fellow Christians

that his conduct should be blameless before the world.

 Philippians 2:14-16  “Blameless” does not mean “perfect.“ God’s people should strive to be at peace with all people.

that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions;

 Luke 19:11-27  Stewardship and “possessions” include far more than money and material things.  Our time, talents, energy, creativity, etc. are all    considered to be in the service of our Lord, no matter our place in life.

and that he should seek to realize for himself...the full stature of maturity in  Christ

 Romans 13:11-14  We are to strive throughout life to grow in Christlikeness. The old man is dead and the new man is growing daily (Colossians 3:9-10).

...and others

 Ephesians 4:13-16  Each believer is responsible to contribute to the growth of every other believer (edification).
